Education

2018 - 2022

Savannah College of Art and Design

I am honored to have obtained an MFA in design for sustainability from one of the top three design schools in the country. This degree encompassed multiple design fields including interior design, industrial design, graphic design, urban planning, and design management. I learned the Adobe Creative Suite, systems thinking, design thinking, information visualization, workshop facilitation, UX research, and more. It was a truly incredible experience.

1997 - 2001

University of Central Oklahoma

Following my marriage to my former husband, I returned to school to obtain an MS in interior design. This is where I learned about space planning, material use, specifications, design history, electrical and lighting plans, design presentation, and accessible design. I drew on all this knowledge when helping guide the curriculum at Seattle Pacific University, as well as in interior design practice.

1988 - 1992

University of Oklahoma

I obtained a BMA (Bachelor of Musical Arts) degree in 1992, with secondary studies in organizational communication. My passion was choral and ensemble music. When I moved to interior design, I was hooked when the elements and principles of design included musical principles. All arts are part of a tapestry of creativity and expression.
